Holocaust survivor prepares for bar mitzvah
Berie Marks, 78 years old is finally getting his bar mitzvah. A holocaust survivor, Marks turned 13 in a Nazi ghetto in Poland before being taken to Auschwitz. Considering the Nazi's weren't to keen on allowing Jewish religious practices Marks was not giving the symbolic passage into manhood. Marks is now getting the chance to fill the dreams of his father and grandfathers (both rabbis) on Sept. 20th. Mr. Marks is an amazing person, speaks 10 languages, Holocaust survivor, served in the Korean War, father, husband, and grandfather. In fact it is his granddaughter who will start the passing of the Torah (which also survived Nazi Germany) to Marks.
